Future homeowners Trinity and Dominique at the Women Build Thank You Party.
On Monday, April 13, we proudly celebrated our 16th annual Women Build season with a Thank You Party at the B Hive Event Center in Fort Myers. It was a night filled with empowerment—all thanks to the incredible support and generosity of our sponsors, SuperPeople, dedicated fundraising teams, and individual donors and volunteers. Together, we have raised $453,757 and counting!
At the event, an inspiring act of generosity took place when Sunlife Homes CEO and Women Build Sponsor Jeff Kershner stepped up with a $10,000 matching gift challenge to help us reach our $500,000 target.

Partnering with Habitat for Humanity’s Women Build is a natural extension of that belief, supporting women who are creating stability and opportunity for their families. Women Build is about recognizing that when we invest in women, we invest in the future of our communities. Last year, more than 400 female-led families walked through Habitat’s doors seeking housing assistance. “That is why Women Build exists,” Vice President of Resource and Development Cece Willis said. “Because there are still women in our community carrying the weight of unstable and unaffordable housing while doing everything they can to create a better future for their children.”
Thanks to the dedication of our Women Build SuperPeople, fundraising teams, individual donors, and local companies, over $453,757 has been raised to fund the construction costs of the two affordable homes for our 2026 Women Build homebuyers, Trinity and Dominique, along with supporting 10 additional women-led households through housing counseling.
Trinity is a single mother of three, who saw a Habitat home as an opportunity for her family to start living rather than just surviving. Similarly, Dominique is a single mother of five, who saw a Habitat home as a safe place where her kids could be kids and have the opportunity to thrive. Trinity recently celebrated her home dedication on March 28th and shared her homeownership journey at the Thank You Party. Dominique is soon to follow in her footsteps toward affordable homeownership, with her home dedication in early May.
At Monday night’s celebration, Future Homeowner Trinity spoke about Women Build’s impact on her life and family. “My home is not just walls and a roof; it is a symbol of every challenge I faced and overcame, every door that didn’t open, and every moment I chose to keep going anyway, Trinity shared Monday night. “For me, this is not the end of a journey; it’s the beginning of a new chapter. A chapter where I can rest, rebuild, and rise even stronger. My children and I look forward to having a place to call our own, where we can make memories that last a lifetime, feeling secure and enjoying the stability of our new home.”
The evening culminated with an honoring of our fundraising teams and their commitment to Women Build, recognizing not one but three outstanding Women Build teams with our top fundraising honors: the Gold Hammer, Silver Hammer, and Bronze Hammer Awards. Congratulations to Estero Island DAR for the Bronze Hammer, to Dream ReStorers for the Silver Hammer, and to Pat’s Amigas for taking home the Gold Hammer Award!🏆 These awards celebrate the spirit and friendly competition that makes Women Build so special, as well as the generosity each team inspires along the way.
