At Habitat for Humanity of Lee and Hendry Counties, we dream of a world where everyone has a decent place to live. Seeking to put God’s love into action, we work towards that goal every single day by building homes, communities, and hope in our own backyard.
As an affiliate of Habitat for Humanity International, we know that building a world where everyone has a decent place to live takes a global village of Habitat affiliates across all 50 states and in approximately 70 countries around the world. Every affiliate plays a role in making this vision a reality by serving their local communities. Plus, with the opportunity to contribute a tithe to Habitat for Humanity International, affiliates can play an extra role in serving the global community and bringing the Habitat vision to life.
Each year, our affiliate tithes 10% of undesignated funds to Habitat affiliates in countries around the world. Those funds go on to build and remodel homes, stabilize communities, and make a significant difference in the lives of families beyond Lee and Hendry Counties.
We’re blessed to have so many supporters who believe in our mission. Such an incredible level of support allows us to make a significant impact both locally and globally. In fact, our tithe is so significant that this year, Habitat for Humanity International recognized Habitat for Humanity of Lee and Hendry Counties for reaching a new milestone, during a world-wide, virtual celebration.
Habitat for Humanity International CEO Jonathan Reckford recognized all US affiliates that have given a lifetime tithe of $3 million or more.
Since our establishment in 1982, Habitat for Humanity of Lee and Hendry Counties has tithed more than $4,000,000 to help people all over the world work towards building a safe, decent, and affordable place to live. The award we received for reaching this milestone is a tangible representation of the impact we’ve made as part of the global community.
