What items can be donated to ReStore?

Here are the items that we can and cannot accept. All items must be in good, resellable condition. Habitat for Humanity ReStore reserves the right to refuse any item. If you don’t see an item listed or have a donation question, please give us a call at (239) 652-1699.

Area Rugs

New and gently used rugs 8ft x 11ft or smaller. Please donate rolled and with size labeled.
NO: wall to wall carpeting, or remnants.


Interior and exterior (standard size only)
NO: Sliding glass, 8ft, or garage doors.


• Hand tools
• Power tools

NO: Recalled, broken, or rusted items. Must be in working condition.


• Boxes of nails, screws, nuts, and misc. hardware
• Door hinges
• Misc. hardware
• Door knobs/deadbolts
• Cabinet pulls

NO: Rusted, loose, or missing parts.


• Patio
• Office
• Living room
• Bedroom
• Kitchen
• Dining room

NO: Stained, torn, broken, peeling, moldy, or pet-damaged furniture. No mattresses/box-springs, entertainment centers, armoires, or Murphy beds.


• Kitchen cabinets
• Bathroom cabinets and vanities
NO: Rot, mold, water damage, or broken cabinets. Doors must be attached.

• Home theater equipment (less than five years old)

• Framed mirrors
• Exercise equipment (less than 5 years old and in working condition)

NO: Clothes, children’s items, valances, draperies, and unframed mirrors

NO: Faucets, shower doors, hot water heaters, countertops with built-in sinks, and jacuzzi tubs.

Home Exterior

• New insulation
• Hurricane impacted windows

NO: Used gutters or windows non-hurricane proof.

Lighting & Fans

• Sconces
• Light fixtures
• Chandeliers
• Lamps

NO: Florescent light bulbs, broken items, or in need of repairs. All lighting and ceiling fans must be in working condition with all parts and mounting brackets included.


• Laminate

NO: Anything manufactured in China, broken or used. Must be more than 100 Sq. ft.

Building Materials

• Electrical hardware
• Brick/block

• Drywall (full sheets)
• Grout (unopened)
• Large quantities of lumber (6 ft or longer)

NO: Paint, cut or used wood. Nothing exposed or left out in exterior elements.
