Beginning in March, Women Build brings together friends and colleagues to fundraise and volunteer for local families in need of decent and affordable housing. Then the two weeks before Mother’s Day, working alongside the future homeowners, teams of volunteers rehabilitate houses into homes. At the end of the two weeks, the day before Mother’s Day, volunteers, family and friends gather to dedicate the homes to the future homeowners.
Women Build Candidate, Lellany, finds out she will be a Habitat Homeowner!
Since 2011, Women Build in Lee and Hendry Counties has housed 15 grateful families and 34 children through local fundraising and volunteer efforts.
