USE YOUR ABILITIES TO HELP A NEIGHBOR IN NEED! |
Special Events
A few times a year, Habitat for Humanity of Lee County needs help staffing booths and table displays at events in the area. Some of those events include the Home and Garden Homeshow as well as fundraising and volunteer drives.
Thrift Store
Sort, organize and price items in Habitat for Humanity’s thrift stores! The Thrift Store was originally started to help families furnish their homes with affordable items. Today, volunteers help run the store as its open to the public for shopping. All proceeds from the sale of donated items go towards the construction of Habitat homes. Habitat for Humanity of Lee County’s three thrift stores are located in North Fort Myers, Cape Coral and Labelle and open Monday through Saturday from 9am to 5pm.
Paint Shop
Habitat for Humanity of Lee County pre-paints all doors, window frames and trim for Habitat homes in our paint shop before the materials are brought to the construction sites. The paint shop is located next to our North Fort Myers office. The Paint Shop is open Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 9am to 2pm.
Warehouse
Habitat for Humanity of Lee County pre-builds all framing and walls for Habitat homes in their North Fort Myers Warehouse. The Warehouse is a shaded facility located next to the Habitat office. Inside the Warehouse, volunteers use a template system to exact each cut and save on scraps. The Warehouse is open Tuesday through Friday from 8am to 2pm.
Bulk Mailing
Bulk mailing is a seasonal task. Habitat for Humanity of Lee County sends out newsletters and fundraising pieces to donors and volunteers a few times a year in bulk mailing capacities. We need help stuffing these pieces with envelopes and loose materials.
Construction
NO EXPERIENCE NECESSARY!! TRAINING WILL BE PROVIDED ON SITE!! Wednesday-Saturday every week, Habitat for Humanity starts construction on its homes at 7:00am, beginning with orientation and instructions on the daily project. Breaks are taken at 10:00am and noon for lunch. Typically, the workday ends at 3:30pm. Volunteers can stay as long or as little as they wish. For more details about what you should know when constructing homes with us, please follow this link to our construction page.

If you are younger than 18 years of age (all volunteers must be at least 14), you must print out this Release and Waiver of Liability for Minors form. A parent or legal guardian must sign the form. Bring the form to the job site on the day you volunteer and give it to the Site Supervisor.
