On Thursday, April 24th, Elephant Bar Restaurant opened its doors to diners and donated 25% of the food sales to Habitat for Humanity of Lee County. At the end of the day, Habitat was given a total of $2,549.30! Elephant Bar Restaurant noted it was the best Habitat event they've been a part of. Hats off to all those who participated in the event. The funds from this charity event will go towards the building of a Lee County home for a deserving family.
The restaurant is located at the Fort Myers Edison Mall, near JC Penneys. The atmosphere of the restaurant has a jungle adventure, tropical-theme and known for its culinary experience. "Elephants have a great memory. We like to think that our restaurant is a memorable experience, an escape from the concrete jungle. And that's why we're called Elephant Bar Restaurant. Our menu offers a broad array of flavors from around the world with a wide variety of items from fresh salads, sandwiches, burgers, regional favorites, fire grilled fish, chicken, steaks and Pacific Rim Specialties," says Director of Marketing Liz Geavaras. The menu includes more than 20 items under the price of $10. The California-based restaurant may be new to Lee County, but has actually be around for almost 30 years and has provided about 195 jobs to the area.
